PDF pages to JPG for email
Search results for “pdf to jpg online” are full of upload tools. Many inboxes handle a few JPG attachments more reliably than a large PDF — especially when a recipient only needs two slides or a cover page. LocalPdfImg keeps every byte in your browser tab until you download. You still need the rights to use the PDF you convert.
Convert PDF to JPG for email — no upload, no sign-up
This guide is the email job on the same local engine as the home page tool. You pick pages, render them as JPG (or PNG), and attach the images. There is no account and no remote “paste a URL” field. Soft guidance stays about 40 MiB per PDF and about 50 pages rendered per run because canvas work uses your device’s memory.
A worked export
Suppose you have proposal.pdf (18 pages) and only pages 1 and 3 matter for email. On the tool you drop the file, set Page range to 1, 3, pick JPG, leave scale at 2×, and press Convert pages on this device. The download is a ZIP of raster images built with pdf.js and JSZip in the tab. Open the images and check sharpness and content before you send. If the mailbox rejects the attachment size, drop to 1× scale or lower JPG quality and convert again — still without uploading.
A second common pattern: a scanned receipt PDF that is already mostly images. Select only the pages you need, prefer JPG, and start at 1× or 1.5× on a phone. Scanned packets are memory-heavy; a laptop is safer for long ranges.
Steps
- Open the converter on the device that already has the PDF. Prefer a laptop for large or scanned files; phones hit memory limits sooner.
- Drop the PDF (or click to choose). Soft guidance is about 40 MiB per file and about 50 pages rendered per run.
- Choose Page range if you only need specific pages (e.g.
1-2, 5). Pick JPG (or PNG + JPG). Nudge JPG quality down if the ZIP feels heavy for email. - Start at 2× scale for sharpness; drop to 1× on phones if memory is tight. Click Convert pages on this device.
- Optional proof: open DevTools → Network before converting, or follow the trust check. You should not see your PDF body leave the page.
When email wants images instead of a PDF
Ticket systems, some webmail clients, and chat bridges sometimes accept JPG more cleanly than a multi-megabyte PDF. Exporting two pages as images can also keep a long packet out of the thread while still showing the cover and the signature block. That is a delivery choice — not a claim that JPG is a legal substitute for the original PDF when your policy requires the PDF.
Keep the source PDF. Rename the download before you attach it so recipients know which pages they are looking at. If the recipient needs searchable text or fillable fields, send the PDF (or use a different workflow). Raster export deliberately drops those features.
Attachment size habits that stay honest
Mail hosts disagree about attachment size. LocalPdfImg does not promise a megabyte target. What you can control locally is page count, scale, format, and JPG quality. Two pages at 2× JPG are usually enough for a cover-and-key-page reply. Exporting all 40 pages of a scanned packet as 3× PNG is how tabs fail and inboxes reject the send.
After convert, open the images on the same device. Check that the crop shows the text you meant to share and that nothing sensitive from a neighboring page slipped in because the range was wrong. Then attach. If you need to prove the PDF never left the tab, run the trust Network check with a non-sensitive sample first.
Honest limits
- Scanned image-heavy PDFs still produce large JPGs — that is a memory and mailbox-size limit, not a hidden cloud quota.
- Encrypted or damaged PDFs can fail with a clear message. Unlock or repair a copy you own, then retry. This tool does not crack passwords or bypass DRM.
- Output is raster. We do not claim OCR, searchable text, or vector SVG. Canvas scale is not a print-shop DPI guarantee.
- There is no remote URL field. Bring files already on the device.
- Merge, reorder, and split are out of scope here. Convert images from pages you already have; use a dedicated merger when you need a new PDF packet.

FAQ
Can I convert PDF to JPG online without uploading?
Yes. LocalPdfImg reads the PDF with the File API and renders pages to canvas with pdf.js in the tab. Watch DevTools → Network or use the trust page. You should not see a POST of your document.
Do I need an account for free PDF to JPG?
No. There is no sign-up and no watermark in the MVP. You download a blob (often a ZIP) created in the browser.
What scale should I use for email?
Start at 2× for readable text. Drop to 1× or lower JPG quality if the attachment is too large for the inbox. 3× is heavy and often unnecessary for email.
Why is my ZIP still large?
Scanned or photo-heavy PDFs become large JPGs even after conversion. Select fewer pages, lower scale, or lower JPG quality. Soft guidance is about 40 MiB and about 50 pages per run.
Can I paste a URL to a remote PDF?
No. There is no address field and no remote fetch. Bring a file already on this device, and only if you have the rights to convert it.
Does convert unlock a password-protected PDF?
No. Encrypted PDFs are rejected or fail to load. Unlock a copy you are allowed to open with another tool you trust, then convert that unlocked copy here.
